It looks good that Bihar gets financial aid from the central govt as per their demand. My happiness goes more when Bihar govt spent all money in the financial year. Earlier, there was a time when most part of allocated money were used to returned back to central govt because of lack of plannning and projects.

I would be very happy if Bihar gets following educational Institutions
1. Nalanda International University : of global standard (MIT/OXFORD)
2. IISER : This instituted is in dire need for Bihar. We are demanding since long.
3. Aryabhatt Knowledge University: is in the stage of formation. I heard news that within a month or two, this university will take shape. One professor of IIT Delhi has been appointed as VC of the proposed university.
4. IIT, Patna : I feel very bad about IIT Patna because of their very bad infrastructure. I don't know why govt gave this polytechnic space for IIT and also amde it "Police Chhawani". The govt should not bargain on the standard of IIT.
I hope, IIT Patna will have good infrastructure in 2-3 years and Then it would function like IIT like status. This would be irony if IIT Patna becomes at the par of IIT K. IITM,IITKH. I would be very happy if IIT Patna produces reseaechers not only enginners.One survey says,all IITs failed to produce researchers, they produce only quality engineers.
Bihar need minimum 100 school of enginneering, management, medical colleges. For this, Private sectors must come to Bihar and invest into this sector. Bihar has enough potential of becoming developed state thru educational rennaissance.

i understand your restlessness due to the lack of quality central institutes in the state.But the demand for IISER at this stage will be a kind of gambling.I think so because these institutes are yet to prove their excellence in terms of research output.their stage is like a childs at present.Presently they have been set up at critical places where the demand of faculty and related essentials are easily met.The government cannot just setup any new institution in patna. It cannot grow from there unless it has already set up its brand value which would attract faculties from all over the globe to teach there.Setting IIT & setting IISER are two completely different thing one must understand.You could not have set up an iit in patna 1960s which you can easily do now.
Bye the way i myself is a student at IISER kolkata and ofcourse from Bihar.

I am ankit,residence of Darbhanga,Bihar,from IISER Mohali. after reading your blog, I think this would be good for bihar to have such an institute but my friend Bihar is not ready for it. I saw it. I went for summer research project at IIT patna, I felt that. Administration, Academia, Mindset, local person involvement is so bad that you cannot imagine.
Demand for IISER is as usual but from prospect of national interests, I think when Kolkata is already having IISER then Bihar shouldn't .Afterall these are not like LNMU . These institutes are of national importance. It shouldn't be allocated like statewise gifts. Okay
And for my friend from IISER Kolkata, I wanted to say that you are wrong. IISERs have already prove their excellence in terms of research output and industrial demand. In foreign country like Germany, USA, IISER students are in demand.
Thanking you all to share your willingness for betterness of higher education of BIHAR. I am really very interested in it. And I'll do whatever is for the better of quality education in science in our bihar.
